We boatjacked the Roda Impian boat again this morning, this time cruising the west side of Brunei River, embarked on a mission called Ops Bangkatan. Bangkatan is the local name for long-nosed Proboscis monkey. We switched to silent mode, all that can be heard was the cackles of the reddish-brown monkeys and the clicks of our shutters. not only we searched for the Proboscis monkeys, we were on a bird hunt too..

We tried to look for crocodiles upstream Bengkurong river, but all we found was this.. a species called Proboscis EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS USM.

p/s Further reports from the mission, check out Bruneian, Zadm, SoulJah, Klick With Aku, Airbiscuit and Sinadam.

We had a family lunch gathering today, theme menu: our late grandma's favourite cookings, home-cooked for the younger generations to savour. p/s. the sharp-shooters will be deployed to the mangrove swamps of Brunei River tomorrow to hunt for the endangered proboscis monkeys. Stay tuned!

I enjoy portrait photography, especially when we can capture one's mood and facial expression. As much as I want to be versatile, I haven't done much of macro, abstract or other genres in photography but soon I will. Anyway, few 'vain and camera-friendly' girls at work were eager for a lunchtime pose yesterday. Tired and stressed after a hard work on the frontlines, they still managed to put on a quick touch-up of loose powder and blushers when they saw me approaching, armed with my 50mm.
I will post more portraits of the boys and girls at work soon, for the time being I will feature Shazwani.

There was an accident at the Jame Asr roundabout this morning, hence congested my usual route to work i.e. Jalan Beribi from the Setia Motors roundabout to the big roundabout. The two-laned road became three-laned and I was using the unofficially middle lane. Then I heard a siren from a police bike ushering the motorist to make way for a big black police bus, I tried to move to the left lane but it was stucked, I was trapped, still trying to squeeze through the left lane but I did not have much space. Suddenly this BG registered big black police bus squeezed through, scratching my side-skirt in the process and then just zoomed away along with it's white police patrol jeep behind it, ignoring my honk.
The rest, I spent the morning making a statement at the Bandar police station, where they have problem spelling the word 'side-skirt'!! They managed to get hold of the bus driver and according to him, I was taking my time to pull over and give way to the motorcade. Like what? Where do they expect me to go? On top of the other cars? Or they expect my car to have VTOL (vertical take-off/landing..just like a harrier) capabilities? Even if I took my sweet time, does that mean a BG registered vehicle can hit anything in their paths? What if it was a man lying in the middle of the road? Well, enough said, you be the judge!
