This was my first time covering a wedding in Temburong district with CandidSyndrome Brunei, just a day after the worst flood that ever hit Temburong. I am yet to familiarise myself with this quiet and peaceful district. Kenali Negara Kitani.

It's now that time of the year when I crave for McD's Prosperity burger and the twisted potato fries. Anyway , wishing all my Chinese friends a prosperous new year ahead.

The final series of my Kelantan travelogue. We only had 15 minutes to shoot colourful boats at the fishing village in Pantai Sabak and then catch our flight back to KL. We would have witnessed a lively scene of fishermen return to the jetty with their day’s catch, but it was Friday and it was their day off. But that does not stop us to capture images of them mending their nets and preparing their boats.
That’s it! I must go there again!

We arrived at the airport 3 minutes before the check-in desk was closed, and we made it for an evening at Putrajaya.

Kelantan people have deep respect for Islam and Muslim tradition. Offices and most businesses are closed on Fridays and Saturdays. After the visit to the markets, we stopped by the Al-Muhammadi Mosque for the Friday prayers. I think the mosque must have built as early as the 17th or 18th century by looking at its graceful features of the colonial days.
After the prayers, the surrounding area turned into a bustling sidewalk bazaar. Goods from traditional medicines, stones, rings, prayer beads and traditional Muslim clothing, the scene reminds me of Mecca after prayer times. Or you can say the atmosphere is just like the streets of Baghdad in Ali Baba Bujang Lapok.
One thing we noticed about the traders here, they literally call Ringgit Malaysia as ‘Riyal’ in their transactions!

Even with the lack of sleep, the very early morning flight to Kota Bharu was indeed worthwhile. The abundance of subjects made us regret that it was only a day-return trip. So many things to shoot, so many places to go, yet so little time. A state so rich in culture and colours, in its heyday, Kelantan was known as the 'Annexe to Mecca' for its role in developing Islam in the region.
As soon as we arrive Kota Bharu, we went to Siti Khadijah Market. A visit to Kelantan will not be complete without a visit to this bustling bazaar. From the market's 3rd floor, it was truly an irresistible treat for shutterbugs with it's colourful assembly of goods and lively atmosphere. We also dropped by another market at Pasir Mas' town.
